For day programs and transition programs
Accessible AI skills for adults with intellectual disabilities
AbleMakers turns AI into a life-skills curriculum for adults with IDD: daily living, communication, safety, and a full job-readiness arc, in safe scripted chats participants drive themselves.
6 ready-to-run AI activities for adult programs
Choose one activity for a 10 to 20 minute session. Every activity uses scripted practice before live AI, needs no learner account, and accepts tapping, pointing, signing, AAC, reading, or listening.
About 10 minutes

About 15 minutes

The learner makes every choice. Staff can read, point, repeat, or wait, but never need to take over the screen.
Made for program days
Independence, not time-filling
Participants build skills they use the same week: planning days, making shopping lists, understanding mail, writing messages. Every quest ends with something real made.
A work-readiness arc
The AI at Work land walks the path to employment: finding real job skills, a first resume, interview practice, learning tasks in small steps, and workplace messages.
Runs on whatever you have
Any browser on any tablet, phone, or computer. No accounts, no licenses, no cost, no IT project. Progress saves per device; optional sign-in syncs across devices.
Safety woven in, not bolted on
Privacy, scam-spotting, and ask-a-person boundaries are quests participants complete, not policies staff recite. Money and benefits moments always route to trusted people.
Fitting it into a program day
- Small groups of one to three per device work well: one drives, others listen and cheer.
- One land is a natural unit: three to five quests, badge each, trophy at the end.
- Print certificates when a land finishes and make it a moment.
- Rotate the Skills Library pages as discussion starters between sessions.
- Staff read the family guides once: they double as facilitation training.
Questions about benefits and paid work? Start with the money and benefits guide.
Run a free pilot this week
The 30-minute workshop kit includes a facilitator timeline, safety prompts, a QR code that takes participants straight to their first activity, and privacy-safe reflection sheets for the end of the session.
